Medical and Fitness Requirements
Applicants must pass a medical examination as specified by the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping). This includes tests for vision, hearing, and general physical fitness to ensure capability to handle the demanding conditions at sea.
Training Institutes
Choose a DG Shipping-approved maritime training institute. It’s crucial to select a reputable institute as it forms the foundation of your maritime career.
Further Steps
Upon completion of your course, you will need to complete the required sea-time as a trainee on board a ship, followed by examinations and certifications that enable progression through the ranks in your maritime career.
